Our standard
Useful comparisons begin with comparable data.
Provider catalogs use different names, currencies and package structures. We normalize those fields before a plan enters a result set.
Normalize
Prices are converted to euros and plan fields are mapped to a shared format so equivalent offers can be compared.
Deduplicate
Package identifiers and normalized plan attributes remove repeated country and provider records. The current unique count comes from the catalog function.
Disclose
Paid positions are labelled Sponsored. Other configured positions are labelled Featured and do not imply payment.
What ranking means
Recommended sorting balances catalog position, price, data and validity. Choosing lowest price, most data or longest validity applies only that selected rule. Provider commissions do not alter filter results.
Catalog prices over 30 days
Destination plan cards can show the listed EUR catalog price over the last 30 days: low, high, how often it changed, and whether it moved up or down. That series is before promo codes. It does not replace the live table, and a commission never rewrites the curve. The same data is public at /api/catalog/price-history.
How we count destinations
252 destinations covered in the live catalog are distinct coverage codes on plans: countries, territories and regional plans. 198 of them have a dedicated country page. The price index ranks those country pages, not the full coverage set.
How does eSIM Comparator rank plans?+
Recommended sorting balances catalog position, price, data and validity. Lowest price, most data or longest validity apply only the selected rule. Provider commissions do not alter filter results.
What does Sponsored mean?+
Paid positions are labelled Sponsored. Featured labels mark configured positions and do not imply payment.
Why 252 destinations and 198 country pages?+
252 is every distinct coverage code in the live catalog — countries, territories and regional plans. 198 is the set of country pages you can open, and the set the price index ranks. The larger number is catalog coverage; the smaller number is pages with a full comparison.
Do you keep an eSIM price history?+
Yes. We store daily listed catalog prices in EUR and can show a 30-day curve on destination plan cards, before promo codes. Rankings still use the current listed price. The public endpoint is /api/catalog/price-history.
